Software Creation Tips

[private].[/private]I’m not going to blow smoke up your pant leg and try to tell you I know how to develop software or that I have any experience developing software. I have never been a programmer and, other than one entry level programming course I took for fun a few years back, I don’t have the first CLUE how to write a single line of code when it comes to creating a software program.

However, I have managed projects where I had my own software created. I “outsourced” the project and oversaw the programmers to make sure the finished product turned out to be what we were hoping for.

Just by being a computer user and a software user, I’m sure you can think up a few pretty cool software programs that aren’t out there yet or, even better, could you think of how to improve an existing program?

If you can do that, then you can easily market and sell your own software.

All you have to do is manage the project effectively using the tips we covered in the outsourcing section (pay special attention to the part where I discuss “Outsourcing Web Design & Programming Work”).

I wish I could write a whole section on how to become a software programmer but that’s just not my bag of chips. Most programmers wouldn’t have the first clue how to build a kick butt website around their software in order to market and sell the finished product (they might be able to actually build and program the site, but they won’t know the marketing strategies and elements that make it SELL), just as I don’t have a clue how to actually build the software itself.

If you are a programmer or are familiar with software development feel free to chat up this topic on the forums and perhaps we can go into further detail on this topic! But for now, I can only recommend outsourcing software development because frankly, that’s how I would do it myself!
