Thank You Page Ads
[private].[/private]What do you use your “Thank You” page for? If your answer is merely, “to thank my customers” you are underestimating the power of that thank you page.
Thank You pages can be used for far more than just thanking customers for their purchase and providing them with further instructions. You should hope your affiliates realize this too.
The thank you page can be used to deepen the relationship between you and your customers. When it comes to your affiliates, they may not know or realize this so it’s important to provide them with advertisements for YOUR product to place an their own thank you pages.
I realize this is a confusing topic so let me explain a bit more thoroughly and start at square one.
A “Thank You” page is the page visitors will see after completing a desired action on your (or your affiliate’s website). For example, a thank you page may simply be the page someone is redirected to after joining a newsletter mailing list.
A thank you page would also be the page buyers see immediately after making a purchase. Perhaps the thank you page will have product information, purchase information, or a receipt number, or even a download link so customers can click to download their purchases.
Well, whether or not anyone has informed you before, this is one of the most valuable pieces of internet real estate out there! Since in many cases this is the page that only people who have actually made a PURCHASE will see, it’s a great place to offer additional products.
On your own thank you pages you can offer complimentary products, products you’re affiliated with, and so on.
But the reason you should develop Thank You page advertisements for YOUR OWN product is so that your affiliates with websites of their own, can include your Thank You page ad on their websites.
I.E. if one of your affiliates is selling an eBook on a related topic, they can add the Thank You page ad you provide to the page their customers see after purchasing their eBook. This way, if someone visits your affiliate’s site and purchases the eBook that your affiliate is selling, once they hit the Thank You page for that eBook that has nothing to do with you or your product, the visitor will then see an ad for YOUR site when they get to the Thank You page for the eBook they purchased from your affiliate.
This is yet another area in which your help in providing plug n’ play advertising materials will be of great value to your affiliates and, hence, to you. The thank you page is a place where you have a completely targeted audience that has PROVEN to be willing to spend money. The people who land on this page have done so because they:
** Have signed up for a free newsletter or report
** Have opted-in to a mailing list for information
** Have made a purchase
These are people who already trust your affiliate on some level because they have seen what the affiliate has to offer. Why stop there?
If all your thank you page says is “Thank You”, then you are really saying, “Thank you, here’s the door. Don’t let it hit you on the way out.” You should really take full advantage of the potential of your Thank You page AND more importantly, make sure you affiliates realize the importance of optimizing their own thank you pages.
The thank you page is a place where you can help your customer feel valued. Your affiliates can and should do the same.
When you go beyond saying “thank you” and ask for their feedback and opinions or let them know that they can reach you if they have any questions or need help, you are showing them that you are not gone with the end of the sale. Hopefully your affiliates are doing the same with their thank you pages as well as including the advertisement you provide them with to place on their thank you pages.
When you can follow up with your customers by using the thank you page, make an offer “they can’t refuse” and one that is connected in some way with what they just signed up for or purchased. You’ll surely see an increased amount of profits. Explaining this to your affiliates will help convince them to include your Thank You page ads on their own thank you pages.
Now, your goal is to help your affiliates create a thank you page that will draw in more sales for yourself. Remember, you want to make your affiliates’ job as easy and worry-free as possible. If they have to learn about the thank you page and what to write on it, they will be less likely to have more than “Thank You” written on it.
What specifically do you need to supply for your affiliate? Everything. OK, I’ll narrow that down:
The thank you message: Create multiple variations of your Thank You page ads with varying “Thank You” headlines. For example, create ads that say “Thank Your For Joining Our Mailing List” and also ads that say “Thank You For Your Purchase.” This way affiliates will get the idea that these thank you page ads can be used in a number of different places on their sites to include pages seen after purchases, after opt-ins, and etc.
Invitation to comment/ask questions: Your affiliate will want to be sure that every customer is more than welcome to ask questions, ask for help, or leave comments about his or her experience with the product. By creating the text for this and including a link to an email address so that the customer can simply click on it and send the message, you will ease the burden on your affiliate.
Have all of this ready and waiting for each affiliate who signs up with you. It will be a welcomed resource and both of you will see an increase in sales and profits when your affiliate uses the tools you have put in his or her toolbox.
Go around to websites selling products similar or complimentary to your own digital product and contact the owners/webmasters proposing they add your “Thank You Page Ad” to the pages their customers see AFTER purchase. Explain how this will not affect current sales since visitors will not be redirected to your site until after they’ve already spent money. Also mention how the affiliate can earn additional money in the form of commissions by monetizing their Thank You page with your provided advertisement. Most people can’t say no to a good “win-win” situation like this, give it a go!
