Email Solo Ads
[private].[/private]Email Solo Ads
Email solo ads are pre-written email messages aimed at delivering promotional text-based material to people who are subscribed to the newsletters of your affiliates. When you give your affiliates the ability to simply copy and paste an email message and broadcast it to their list you are making their job easy and, as we already discussed, the easier your make your affiliate’s work the better!
There are only a few considerations for creating email solo ads for your affiliates. I will cover just a couple of things you’ll want to keep in mind and also show you an example of a promotional email solo ad I provide affiliates for one of my other websites.
One additional note about email solo ads before I get into the meat of what makes a great solo ad. If you are even slightly skilled at writing a little promotional sales copy you’ll be able to pump out tons of these for your affiliates to use without having to spend a dime. it’s literally as simple as writing an email! All you have to do is type it up using the voice of the affiliate.
A few considerations for creating email solo ads:
• Writing Style – Write the emails in the voice of your affiliates. In other words, do not write the messages as if you are speaking directly to the potential customer, but as if you are the affiliate who is mailing this message out to their list of subscribers.
• Readability – Keep the messages extremely easy on the eyes. You can do this by inserting extra line breaks (your enter key will become your friend) and by keeping the lengths of your paragraphs short. Here’s a quick example:

• Inserting Variables – Inserting variables into your email solo ads is just one more little thing you can do to make the work of your affiliates that much easier. This step is not mandatory and it will take a little bit of programming skill. Basically, automatic variable insertion is like adding some sugarcoated little sprinkles on top of the icing that’s already on the cake.
Providing your affiliates with email solo ads is a great start and setting up your affiliate tools to AUTOMATICALLY include the affiliate’s unique link within the email solo ad is what I’m suggesting when I advise you to automatically insert the affiliate’s variables for them. I’m going to suggest a few affiliate management scripts for you in an upcoming section and most of the better scripts already include this feature.
• Subject Lines – When providing email solo ads to your affiliates do NOT forget to suggest a few catchy subject lines for them to us in conjunction with your email solo ads. The less thinking and creativity you leave up to your affiliates the better because the vast majority of them will be eager to just take what you offer them and run with it and will appreciate not having to take the time to create unique promotional material for YOUR product.
Here is a real-world example of an email solo ad that I provide affiliates of my “Auction Selling 101″ website. Check it out:

Notice in the example above that it would take a good affiliate only a few seconds to replace the “xxxx” with his own unique affiliate ID. I also suggest providing your affiliates with some specific instructions on exactly what they will need to do to tailor each individual email solo ad to their unique needs if you are not using the automatic variable insertion method described above.
If you have a few minutes, I would recommend taking a peek at the affiliate’s page I designed for my affiliates of Auction Selling 101. This particular product was a recurring membership offered through Clickbank. By visiting this affiliate resource’s page you’ll see that I tried to provide everything I could think of to make my affiliate’s job as easy as possible.
Analyze this page using the perspective of a potential affiliate and with the perspective of a product vendor.
Here is the page to critique and use as an example of providing your affiliates with detailed instructions and easy-to-use promotional tools. Pay close attention to how I deliver the email solo ads to the affiliates. I made it so easy all they literally had to do was click on the message and copy it! You’ll want to make delivery of your “creatives” (another online marketing term for advertising materials) to your affiliates so easy that you nearly do all of the work for them:
