JV Alert Live in Philadelphia, PA June 6-8, 2008
I recently decided I’ll be attending JV Alert Live in Philadelphia, PA from June 6 until June 8. This event is approximately 3 weeks away (based on the time of this post) and fast approaching!
I got a question a few days ago in the form of a blog comment asking if I would be attending this event so I figured why not make a post of it?
The event is hosted by Ken McArthur, who I’ve not yet had the chance to meet, but must say I’ve heard many great things about both Ken & his JV Alert events.
I typically only make it out to one seminar a year, two tops.
Since Philly is just a stone’s throw away from my hometown of Pittsburgh I figured why the heck not? After all, I’d probably waste the weekend away goofing off on my newfound addiction anyways!
I have only been to about 3 seminars in total since I got involved with internet marketing. At each and every event I’ve been to I have made important new connections & friends that I seem to keep in touch with regularly.
You’ve probably heard the phrase “friends with benefits” right? Well, in many cases, you will make “friends with benefits” at these type of marketing seminars and get-togethers.
Typically when you think of “friends with benefits” the first thing that comes to mind is ex-boyfriends/girlfriends keeping up a friendly relationship that becomes “more than just friends” only when it is convenient for them.
However, this is not match.com and I’m not talking about romance, hooking up, or keeping up with your ex. I’m talking about making friends who will prove to be valuable to you in ways to exceed friendship alone.
At these types of seminars & events you’ll cement relationships that can be highly profitable & ongoing for the duration of your marketing endeavors.
If you’ve been in the “internet marketing game” for any amount time I’m sure you know the feeling of giving someone an honest reply to the frequently asked question, “So what is it exactly that you do on the internet?”
Once you begin to answer, explaining simply that you sell digital products, promote other products via affiliate programs, use pay per click marketing, or anything of the sorts, it’s somewhat heartbreaking to watch as their eyes begin to glaze over and you get that 1,000 yard stare. You know, within the first few words of your reply, that you’ve already lost your subject, and they have COMPLETELY zoned out.
If you’re reading this I’d imagine that the prospect of making money online & topics like “internet marketing” are probably the most interesting thing you could possibly dream of to chit-chat about. But, unfortunately, it’s difficult to find people in your day to day life who share a similar perspective.
That is why these events such as JV Alert Live were created, in order to bring together lots of like-minded internet entrpreneurs who understand each other, at every level, from beginner to very advanced. At these events you won’t get away with answering that questions, “So what is it exactly that you do online”? with some generic scripted answer. You’re going to have to be much more specific because you’ll have an engaging audience who shares your passion for internet marketing.

If you’ve never been to an event before and are planning on coming to JV Alert in Philly next month, feel free to holler at me! I’ll hang out and talk shop with ya.
Here’s the link to check out the JV Alert page where there’s also some cool vids with marketers giving their testimonials/accounts of how much they enjoyed attending past JV Alert marketing seminars:
Hope you can make it out!
