Holy Schnikes! Facebook thinks I’m a SPAMMER! Disabled Facebook Account
Imagine my shock, horror, and disgust, when I went to login to my beloved Facebook account today only to discover that my account has been disabled. I panicked, I freaked, and I inevitably began to calm down and research some of the reasons as to WHY this could have happened.
I don’t spam people on Facebook, never have, never will. I don’t abuse any of the resources or groups, and I sure as heck don’t post any questionable content. So after scouring site after site and reading dozens of reports of similar happenings to other honest Facebook users I determined that cause of my problem.
I had went on a short mission to add lots of friends to my account by finding people who shared mutual friends with me… this is allowed on Facebook, however, the error of my ways was that I was sending the same “welcome” message to each friend.
When Facebook bots notice this duplicated content getting re-posted over and over again your account can apparently get flagged. My frustration was that I had not done anything against the rules as far as I could tell. I even took the time to read over the “terms of use” and “code of conduct.”
I concluded that Facebook has turned into just another giant powerhouse of a site that will ban a user without questions based on a “guilty until proven innocent” approach. I’m not whining or complaining, I understand the need for this sort of policy when millions of users are accessing the site and not all of them are honest.
I’m just slightly upset that it happened to my account. I’ve taken steps to have my account reinstated and can’t see any reason why I shouldn’t get my account flipped back on but if for some reason you’re looking for me on Facebook the next few days and see me unavailable this is the reason as to why.
After surfing the net for answers & solution I came across some very prominent people who have had their similar frustrations with Facebook and have even offers up some tips (that I have already followed) to getting your account reinstated should you fall victim to the “guilty until proven innocent” policy.

I’ll update the blog when I hear more and find out whether or not I’ll be making a resurrection on Facebook. I sure will be disappointed if I can’t get back in or if I lose any of my many apps, pictures, friends, or other account data.
I’ve heard Facebook is slow to get back to you when appealing your account closure so I won’t be holding my breath as I go through Facebook withdrawal over the next few days.
