Facebook Unveils New Profile Layouts

Posted on July 31, 2008 by No Comments

Today I logged into my Facebook account and I was like “WOW!”  The entire layout of my profile was completely rearranged.  The home page of each profile is basically your mini-feed and that’s about it… Everything else can now be viewed only by clicking through various tabs located at the top of the profile.

There was also some links to check out news regarding the new profile change and after reviewing some of the changes I have mixed feelings.  One thing I’m a little bit sour about is that I now have much less control over the content that displays on the “landing page” of my profile.  Prior to this change, I could manage & control my boxes on my Facebook profile and now those same boxes are several “tabs” back from the home page.

The main plus I’ve personally identified after this change is that there is much more protocol from profile to profile and you can quickly & easily get a good view of a person’s status & network by glancing over their mini-feed, which is the first thing you see when viewing a person’s profile.

Check it out for yourself… who knows if these changes will be permanent but I strongly suspect there will be an uproar from all the Facebook users who preferred the old layout… and based on what I’ve seen so far, I think I prefer the old layout too… I just don’t want to jump to conclusions so I’m going to give the new look a try first.
