Walter Prorok, PFG's first case study, prepares to launch TwitterHints.com
Walter M. Prorok Jr. is not only a close personal friend since pre-high school days, but he also happens to be my first “guinea pig” for a series of case studies I’ll be conducting for Pro From Go.
A few short weeks ago Walt sent me an email saying he wanted to earn a few bucks online just as he’s seen me do the last couple years. At first, I assumed the email was a prank and he was just “jerking my chain” a little bit. After confirming with Walt that he was serious, we went ahead and did a little brainstorming, research, and due diligence to find a niche & product he’d be interested in working with . . .

Fast forward a few weeks later, and we’re on the verge of launching Walt’s first site: Twitter Hints . . .
During our first few conversations we examined exactly what types of skills, experience, and knowledge Walt brought to the table. He’s a guitar player with extensive knowledge of teaching guitar lessons… hmm, would make a great membership site… but we wanted a faster less work-intensive product & site since Walt was on a shoestring budget.
What else… ??? Well, Walt plays in a band that does gigs all over our city and he has a lot of knowledge of social network marketing to promote his musical group… BINGO!
So let’s zoom in on this… everyone knows about MySpace, Facebook, the usual… we needed to find something that was a hot topic, cutting edge, and likely to be a point of interest for some time to come.
As we’re discussing sub-niches of social network marketing I decided to update my Twitter profile with a quick text message (see the actual Tweet I’m referring to here).
Voila, Walt mentioned he was interested in Twitter and we both realized it was the perfect niche topic for us to explore and create a digital product for . . .
Now as you can see that Tweet mentioning our announcement of intentions to create a digital product on the topic of “Twitter Marketing” was made on May 20, 2008.
At the time of this blog entry, June 14, 2008 – LESS THAN ONE MONTH after our announcement of picking a niche . . . we have a complete 30 page ebook on Twitter marketing which is very in depth with little to no fluff, a complete sales page & simple website, a squeeze page, and we’ve even already gotten the product approved in Clickbank.
All we have left to sort out is a few last minute details and we’ll be ready to start approaching JV’s, recruiting affiliates, and using my sneaky ninja tricks to get the site for The Twitter Report onto the first page of Google in no time flat for our related keywords.
We also shot a couple documentary style videos in my office since Walt lives nearby and we’re old buddies I figured why not create a video journal type of series to record Walt’s journey from “Go…” to “Pro!”
I’ll be posting a few of our videos in the member’s area and on YouTube & similar sites soon. That’s it for now, watch for updates & announcements as Walt’s site launches & starts making him some moolah in the next few days/weeks.
Oh yeah, and I almost forgot, we also got an eCover graphic created too… take a peek:
