A few days ago, on November 18, Clickbank announced it’s exciting new plans to release an ad serving platform that will enable publishers far greater reach and exposure.
This new tool is also likely to be a goldmine for savvy affiliates. The new Clickbank ad serving platform could also be the final fatal blow to Google AdSense, at least as far as internet marketers are concerned.
We’ve all seen your typical Google Adsense advertisements. These ads contain three lines of text broken down to include a headline, two additional lines of ad copy, and a display URL. The Clickbank ad serving platform will be modeled in a similar way.
The Clickbank ad serving platform will allow headlines to contain 28 characters and will be displayed in a bold blue font. The two additional lines of ad copy that will appear in Clickbank’s new ad serving platform are each limited to 28 characters.
This is slightly different than the existing limitations for Google AdWords advertisers (the same ads that appear on Google AdSense enabled sites), which contain 25 characters in the headline, 35 characters in the first line of copy, and 36 characters in the third line of copy.
Another major difference between the Clickbank ad serving platform and the Google equivalent is the non-existience of a “display URL” within the Clickbank ad serving platform.
Google advertisements allow 35 characters for a display URL, whereas the Clickbank ad serving platform appears as if it may not use “display URL’s” given that the “Customer-Facing Adverisement Editor” (the tool used by Clickbank publishers to create & save ads for their products, pictured below) has no field for publisher’s to save this information.
However, there is a possiblity the equivalent of a display URL may still appear both in the Marketplace XML feed, and also in the contextual ad serving platform.
Inside the Clickbank account settings for every publisher, there is “hoplink target URL” field (Login to your Clicbank account, “Account Settings” tab, “My Site” sub-menu, click “Edit” on “Marketplace Information” to change/edit/update your hoplink target URL) which in more cases than not, will be the same URL that would have been used as a “display URL” anyways.
The Clickbank ad serving platform is currently in “Phase I” as noted by Clickbank in their November 18, 2008 Clickbank News post. Phase 1 is directed mainly at publishers and encourages any and all publishers interested in taking advantage of this new feature to utilize the “Customer-Facing Advertisement Editor” to create & save their 3 line ad for an existing Clickbank product.
Clickbank promises these ads will be soon be shown not only in the new contextual ad serving platform, but also in the Marketplace XML feed.
Including your product early in this new program is a sure-fire way to attract more leads & potential buyers. You can go create your ad for the new Clickbank ad serving platform by logging into your account, and then visiting the following link to access the “Customer-Facing Advertisement Editor” which will allow you to create, edit, and save your ad:

A few days ago I had the opportunity to interview two genuine JV giveaway experts. These guys are both people I would consider friends for all the help they’ve offered me over the past couple weeks as my giveaway fast approaches (it launches in less than 8 hours from the time I type this blog entry).
As you can imagine, I was eager to get Dinner’s take on a lot of points as well since he could offer up advice that would help me keep my contributors engaged & motivated throughout the duration of the giveaway.
